A Hudson Valley native, Dr. Bill graduated from Cornell in 1986. He began his practice life in Pine Plains, NY and subsequently purchased a practice, Pittsfield Veterinary Clinic, in Central New York in 1989. Over the past 30 years, he has grown that practice into a group of three small animal practices and a large animal ambulatory and equine breeding practice. Since graduating from vet school, he dedicated his professional life to mixed practice caring for all species large and small. In 2019 he gave up large animal practice to focus on small animal medicine and surgery and management of our practice group. He obtained his MBA in 2018 from UAlbany. He lives on a farm in Pittsfield with a menagerie of animals. Dr. Bill likes to travel, ski, SCUBA dive and is an itinerant woodworker and tinkerer. He and his wife, Lisa, also a veterinarian, are occasional empty nesters with three grown children.
Dr. Marcus Hetzner was born in Nurnberg, Germany and moved to the United States in 1980 with his stepfather, a pilot for the US Army, mother and three siblings. They spent three years in Savannah, Georgia before his stepfather received orders for another stint in Germany. His family moved back to the US in 1985, where his stepfather was stationed at Fort Drum, NY where Dr. Marcus subsequently attended Lowville Academy and Central School until he graduated in 1994. From there he attended St. Lawrence University on a full academic scholarship and eventually graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelors of Science, in 1998.
After college, Dr. Marcus worked for the Watertown Eye Center in Watertown, NY until he was accepted into The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. He earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and after graduation took a position at Countryside Veterinary Clinic where he worked as a small animal practitioner and surgeon for the next 15 years. With a desire to grow his surgical practice (with particular interests in orthopedic, ophthalmic and soft tissue surgeries), Dr. Marcus accepted a position at the Marcy Veterinary Clinic in January of 2020.
Dr. Marcus still resides in Lowville, NY with his wife, Lisa, and two teenage sons, Alexander and Nicholas. His family also includes two cats, Seely and Jinx, and three dogs, Finnegan (Golden Retriever), Dexter (Pit Bull) and little Isabella (Shih Tzu). Outside of work, he finds relaxation in his wood shop, gardening, traveling, kayaking/canoeing and spending quality time with his family and pets.
Dr. Amy grew up in Mill Hall, PA where she was heavily involved in 4-H and showed sheep, goats, and horses. She attended Penn State University and earned a degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. At Penn State, she gained cattle experience while working on different dairy farms and learned how to evaluate livestock on the 2016 Livestock Judging team. Following this, Amy attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine where she focused on small animal and production medicine.
Amy enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but is especially interested in small animal preventative care, transition cow health, and small ruminant medicine. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping, and playing a wide variety of musical instruments.

Dr. Keegan, a Marcy native, is a recent graduate of St. George’s University. He has interests in preventative medicine, nutrition, and theriogenology. He particularly enjoys working with cats and cows; however, he gladly sees all critters. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his two cats, Aoife and Guinness, and his dog, Doggo.

Kerry grew up in the Bronx moving to the area in her senior year of High School and fell in love with the area.
After graduating with degrees in Accounting and English, Kerry began working in Finance at Bassett Medical Center. After 20 years with Bassett, Kerry decided it was time to start a new chapter in her career with the Leatherstocking Veterinary Group as the Finance Manager.
Kerry is a devoted mom to her son Jacob and enjoys watching him play football. When the weather permits, they love spending time on the lake with family on their boat. Kerry is an animal lover with two dogs and two cats.
Now living in New Berlin with her significant other and feline, Mitzi- Cheryl has become an essential part of Leatherstocking Veterinary Group. An Unatego High graduate and with degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from SUNY Morrisville, Cheryl can commonly be found crunching numbers at the business office. When not at work Cheryl enjoys gardening and puzzles of any sort.
Soccer mom and pig enthusiast, April joined Leatherstocking Veterinary Group in 2021. A Camden native, April still resides close to home, now with her three sons and their two potbelly pigs. After graduation in 2008 she chose to raise her children and be a stay-at-home mom, helping with schooling and enjoys the boy’s athletic endeavors. Though she has returned to work, her family keeps her quite busy. April can also be found mixing up some pretty spectacular cupcakes in her free time.
Taylor spent her early years in Connecticut, moved to New York when she was 12 and now lives in West Winfield with her husband and two daughters. She currently lives on the family dairy farm where they also care for pigs and goats, along with three dogs, Nikita, Brewster and Penny. After graduation from Mount Markham High school in 2009, Taylor began working at a local dental office as a receptionist where she was employed for over 8 years. In 2019, Taylor joined the team at Marcy Veterinary Clinic. When not in office she enjoys being outside working around the farm and gardening. Of course, Taylor’s favorite pastime is being with her family and playing with her daughters.

Licensed Veterinary Technician
A Camden native and graduate of the class of 2016, Katelynn went on to develop her passion for animal care achieving her associate’s degree in Veterinary Science from SUNY Delhi in 2018. Now living with her boyfriend and their 9 animals including 2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 guinea pigs and a fish, Kate enjoys spending her free time teaching yoga and enjoying the outdoors.
After retiring from the United States Army and extensive participation in athletics at the collegiate level, Josh has joined Marcy Veterinary Clinic as a Veterinary Assistant. Though Josh grew up in Florida, he now resides in New Hartford with his girlfriend, Caitlyn and their 2 dogs and rabbit. When not working, Josh can be found out and about with Caitlyn as well as rollerblading. Josh has future hopes for a career in Zoology.
Ashley has extensive background in customer service and a knack for detail. After graduating from Camden Senior High, Ashley attended SUNY Brockport for Physical Education, followed by photography. She left college in 2010 to begin her family and obtained her NYS License in Life and Health Insurance, leading her to a passion for customer service in the healthcare industry. Ashley’s background in human medicine started first while working with children at Upstate Cerebral Palsy, followed by her CNA at Oneida extended care and then obtaining her phlebotomy certification in which she worked at the Regional Cancer Center in Utica. Ashley now attends Herkimer College, seeking to obtain her degree in Marketing and Business Communication. When not working, Ashley can be found busy with five children, three cats and three Great Danes, that she proudly raises with husband, Adam. Ashley is also active in the community and currently holds positions on the Pop Warner and Cal Ripken youth sports boards.

Rachel, a Mohawk native joined the Leatherstocking Veterinary team in 2022. A SUNY Delhi graduate of Veterinary Technology and a Herkimer County graduate of Accounting, Rachel brings over 6 years of experience to the Marcy clinic. Still residing in Mohawk with 4 dogs, 2 cats, 3 rabbits and a fish, Rachel enjoys gardening sports, reading and, of course, animals. When not working, Rachel can also be found pet sitting and has a passion for horses and being outdoors.
Marnieta grew up in Roseboom and graduated from TriValley High, then attending SUNY Cobleskill. Now living in Holland Patent with her four dogs, Sophia, Moose, Xena and Herschel and three cats, Marnieta can be found hiking, camping and anything else to enjoy the outdoors. Marnieta is currently enrolled at Medaille University for Applied Science and Veterinary Technician where she hopes to obtain her Veterinary Technician License.
Tina grew up in Ilion but now lives in Danube with her husband, Daniel, two Great Danes (Atticus and Comet), and two cats (Tom Cat and Puss). After years of experience in the veterinary industry, Tina switched to human medicine, working at the regional Cancer Center. She says she come to Leatherstocking Vet for the upbeat and happy atmosphere and loves that it feels like family. When not working Tina can be found with family and friends, outdoors- gardening, fishing and kayaking.
