Your Pet’s Therapy Plan

An individualized treatment plan, conditioning levels and therapy sessions are designed around your pet’s unique needs. We start all therapy plans with a thorough physical examination with your veterinarian. During an exam, your pet will undergo a variety of important evaluations including a gate analysis, girth measurement, and stance review. Together, we determine the desired result for your companion, whether it be to increase mobility or reach a target weight.

Each therapy session typically lasts between 30-45 minutes depending on your pet’s needs. All pet parents are welcome to stay during the session or pick up their pet when the session is complete.

Underwater Treadmill

Warm water is great to ease pain and aid in flexibility, facilitating a better range of motion and deeper stretching. The warmth of the water can also increase blood flow which can speed up recovery.

Pets enjoy many advantages from underwater treadmills, also referred to as hydro-treadmills. The buoyant properties of water making it a great, low-impact exercise by reducing the weight put on the bones and joints. This allows us to increase a pet’s endurance and strength without adding excess stress.

No reason to worry, if your pet fears water. Our well trained staff will take the time to condition your pet to water therapy and ensure they are comfortable and at ease. This may mean therapy sessions and overall goals can take a little longer.

As your pet’s strength improves, our treadmill has features to accommodate. This will provide more resistance to challenge your pet in meeting their rehabilitation or therapy goals.

Laser Therapy

We are proud to offer Cold laser therapy- a noninvasive, low dose therapeutic laser, safe for both cats and dogs. Laser therapy can be used to manage and treat several types of ailments and injuries.
(Please note that as a precaution, this form of therapy is not used for pregnant or nursing animals.)

Cold laser therapy works by increasing cellular function, increasing absorption of nutrients, and helping to reproduce new cells- speeding up recovery and reducing pain and inflammation from surgery injury or disease. The reduction of inflammation and increased circulation can also relieve pain associated with arthritis.

Laser therapy can be used as a substitute or in conjunction with medication for treating chronic pain, neurological disorders, surgical recovery and more. Depending on your pet’s pain management needs, we may combine water therapy and laser therapy.
